July Wrap Up

Well July was interesting. I basically did nothing that I had planned for the summer, and I only read one book. The book that I read was Reign the Earth. But instead of moping about the things that I didn’t do, I am going to tell y’all about all the cool stuff I did do while taking a break from blogging.

I started to spend a lot more time on the apps of Webtoons and Tapas. Now I have multiple comics that are being updated every week, so I have something to read every day. I plan to eventually get around to writing reviews about all of them.

I built my own computer! I now have an amazing gaming computer, which means that any of you guys that play games and want to play with me can. My steam name is  Briennai or BriennaiJ, so add me if you want to. I play anything from Stardew Valley and the rhythm game of touch, to Black Desert and Phantasy Star Online 2.

I also celebrated my 17th birthday on July 6th, but instead of getting books as I had planned I got some PS Vita games. I am also Briennai on there.

I started my summer internship, which got me my PC, and is giving me a lot of social media experience actually so I am planning on growing out my social media.

And…I watched some Twitch Streams. A lot of Twitch streams.

So that’s my July wrapup! Hopefully August will have more books XD. Thanks for reading!

What Have I Been Up To?

Heylo guys! It is the beginning of July, summer is underway, and I have been kinda absent on my blog. What has happened is that I have become entirely tired of reading. I dunno WHAT will get me out of this horrible slump, but I have not wanted to read any of my books lately. Just letting them expire on my digital library account and sit in the boxes that I bought them in. I even went to a school book sale and got a lot of ARC books and used books, and had books given to me by a teacher that I wanted to post about. However, I just have not been interested at all. Nevertheless, this blog will not die! Instead of reading books, I have been playing many, MANY video games. Even some that were from the movies of books. So I will be making many reviews of games I am either playing now or games that I have played in the past. On top of that I will be catching up on my old book reviews that were supposed to be done.

To-Review Book List!

I am sorry for being so dead this past week. I came down with some type of food poisoning for most of the weekend, my usual catchup time, and I can’t seem to shake it now. However, I have read quite a few books, and I never got the chance to catch up on the books from before, so here is a list of some of the books that will be reviewed on here as soon as possible!

Linger

The White Aura

Thieves of Ostia

The Valiant

Shadow and Bone

The Wizard of Oz

Stormbreaker

Envy

The Viscount’s Christmas Temptation

The Tower Treasure

Carve The Mark

Splendor

Mask of Shadows (ARC)

The Wicked Will Rise

Six Of Crows

The Red Pyramid

So that’s my current to-be-reviewed list. Slowly but surely I will bite into this until I will finally be up to date and able to post on a more regular basis.

New Ways to Contact Me!

So in the past few days I have been thinking more and more about summer, so I decided that I needed to broaden my horizons a bit. I want to grow as quickly as I can this summer, not numbers-wise but in quality and consistence, so that I can definitely have a steady blog for my senior year of high school. So I made some new social media for my blog specifically so you all can talk to me all the time!

There we go! I am considering using tumblr in the future, but for now these are the only social media platforms/ways of communication that I will be actively using. Thanks guys!

May Wrap Up

So I feel REALLY bad about what I did in May. I didn’t post half as much as I wanted to, but I just kept reading and reading without making a review. SO NOW I have a review backlog of about…20 books? AND I have more books that still need to be read but that I am pushing off because of the INCREDIBLY LARGE book review backlog. Let me just go over all the books that I did get through during the month of May.

The Stonekeepers Curse

Shiver

Girl Out of Water

The Hate U Give

Empress of a Thousand Skies

The Fifth Wave

Flame In the Mist

The Lightning Thief

Scythe

Linger

Angel of Death

The Secret of the Old Clock

Shadow and Bone

The Wizard of Oz

Stormbreaker

Envy

The Tower Treasure

Carve the Mark

The Viscount’s Christmas Temptation

Me Before You

Fangirl

Splendor

Black Gold

A Court of Thorns and Roses

SO! If I calculate this properly…I read…11,309 pages. At least according to Amazon. I just…I don’t know what to say. I also read 70 books from January-May according to Goodreads. I think that I am going to reach 200 books by the end of this year, as I can easily read 100 books this summer. Well, time for me to crack down and start writing some reviews!

P.S. I am going to stop making book lists. I feel that they just aren’t working for me, I am just going to go back to reading what I want when I want. But I will still try to read my books in a timely manner, I just won’t limit my number of books. I am also going to start into my books that I just bought as I am not going to be using my school library after June 8th.

Bimonthly Book List

This is my current book list, carrying over from last time since technically it isn’t the 15th yet. I just wanted to plot everything out this weekend so I could make sure to stay more on schedule, and give myself extra weekend time to read. This may also change, because I ordered books from BookOutlet for the first time (FINALLY!) but they won’t come until middle to end of next week. But here is my current reading list!

I know, its a lot, but I have a lot of free time on my hands in these next 2-3 weeks AND I am going on a long car trip one weekend which means that I will be stuck in a car for at LEAST 6-8 hours, with traffic possibly 9-10, and I will be doing nothing for most of the weekend which means more reading time. And most of these books are pretty quick reads. Throughout the week I will be going through this list and crossing off the books that I finish (and adding books that I receive), so keep an eye on this post if you want to see what I am up to. Thanks for reading!

Previous Bimonthly Book List Update/Library Book Haul

So these are the books that I had for my previous list, and the ones that are crossed out are the ones that I actually read, and the bold ones are the ones that weren’t on the list that I read ANYWAYS.

Library Book Haul

My city is right next to another city, meaning that people basically live in both. So they allow us to get library cards to both my city’s library and the second city’s library. The second city only has one library though, so sometimes they have more books than my city does since the biggest library in my city is not open right now. I decided to go there and see if they had the old versions of the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books, and while they did they didn’t have all the books I wanted. So I filled up the rest of my list with some other random books that I decided to read.

Bimonthly Book List/Library Book Haul

I don’t have the time to create a weekly reading list, and I doubt I would stick to it if I had one, but two weeks is surely enough time for me to finish the list of books I am going to have here. I also went to the library today, so while these books aren’t on the reading list for this section, some I just can’t wait to read. I’m only going to do pictures for the library book haul since there are only 10 books there, and more in the bimontly reading list.

Scholastic Book Fair Book Haul

scholastic-book-fair

Every year my school has a Scholastic Book Fair. I usually don’t buy much from it because the books are grossly overpriced for the most part and I don’t find interest in that many of them. However, every year they have a section of books that have red stickers and have prices that are either $2.50 and $3. This year, I gathered $20 with the intention of buying as many of those books as I could. Since I have horrid lighting in my room, I won’t do one of those aesthetic photos with all my books and flowers around them, but I can post stock images of them and tell the general summary of them since I have only read one so far.

I am Princess X (Read)

i-am-princess-x

May loves to write. Libby loves to draw. When they were in 5th-7th or 8th grade they loved to create a comic together that they called Princess X. She lived in a haunted house and rules a kingdom called Silverdale, and they wrote about her adventures fighting monsters and saving people. However, when they were both 13, Libby supposedly died in a car accident with her mother. Her body wasn’t found at the time, but showed up 2 weeks later. She was unrecognizable but her school idea was in the pocket of the body. May misses her terribly, and realizes a week after the funeral that Libby’s father had simply packed up and donated all of Libby’s things, including the Princess X comics, and moved away. May searched thrift stores all over for the comics, but she never found them. Now she is 16, and all of a sudden Princess X stickers and posters pop up all over the city. When she reads the webcomic, she realizes that the story has been changed from what it used to be when she and Libby wrote it. The queen now looks like Libby’s dead mother, the Princess looks like Libby, and she is was kept captive by the villain Needle Man until she finally escaped. Now she is searching for items to escape the Needle Man’s power forever with the ghost of her mother. May knows that it could only be Libby writing this, and goes on an adventure of her own to find her.

This made him the youngest person ever to achieve this goal of climbing all seven summits. He wrote this book to tell about his adventures and all that he had to do and his journey up all seven summits.

Thrones and Bones

frostborn-905

Thianna is half human half frost giantess and a misfit in both the human and frost giant worlds. The two cross paths when they are both force to flee into the wilderness and fight for their lives while being chased by a dragon, undead warrior, minions, and other evil people. She wants to work as a lab assistant, and after getting the job she is on the case of what is causing the fever. Are the people accusing her simply discriminating against her because of her Irish background or is she actually going to change the medical world?

The Scourge

the-scourge

Ani Mells is forced by the governor to do a test for the Scourge, a plague that has been infecting her nation. She is marked positive and sent to Attic Island to live out the rest of her days. However, she realizes that something is not quite right with the supposed illness or the Island itself, and with the help of her friend Weevil she wants to solve the mystery of what is going on.

Rebel Spirits

rebelspirits-frontcover

Lori Chase has seen some ghosts in the past but she believes that she has imagined them. Now she and her parents (against her wishes) have moved to Gettysburg, a town that is marred by its Civil War history. The old inn that she lives in is rumored to be haunted by dead soldiers. Then Lori meets Nathaniel Pierce, the soul of a soldier that cannot rest because he was murdered. Now Lori must figure out who killed Nathaniel, and at the same time she is falling for Nathaniel.

That’s it! Although some definitely sound better than others, there was only 1 other $2.50 book that I didn’t buy. And that was simply because I bought it at the book fair the year before. I will be reviewing these sometime, I don’t know when, but I will probably be done with them all before summer begins. These will undoubtedly have some interesting reviews as only the nonfiction one written by the teen climber received over 4 stars on Goodreads. Anyways, that was my first official book haul. Thanks for reading!
